    Moss 500 stock help

I put a Blackhawk stock on my mossburg 500. The foregrip is held on by a recessed nut with 2 notches in it. I cant get that nut on for the life of me.

I tried spinning it with a screwdriver and can get maybe 1.5 turns but after a few shots it comes off. Is there a tool for this? Any idea what its called? I've taken it to a shop or 2 and no ones been able to help me. Maybe a gunner here has one and wouldnt mind securing my foregrip?

    Thanks in advance guys.

    This is what you need...http://www.midwayusa.com/viewproduct...tnumber=723227

I'm somewhat surprised that 2 shops didn't either have one around, or tell you what you need. This is not an uncommon tool.

I have the same tool from Midway, and it helps but it's not perfect for the Mossberg action slide tube nuts.

If the slide nut isn't staying on that tight, and not even 2 full turns as you say, then you may need a longer action slide tube so the slide nut reaches the threads. Either that or the forend grip itself is tight and you really need to push the nut down into the grip when you tighten it (that's what I had to do with my Hogue forend grip).

Thanks for the reply Dave. When i was trying to attach it myself i was using a small flathead screwdriver and a hammer to try and tap the nut around. Thats why I was unable to get very many threads to contact.

I may still try to make my own with a grinder and small piece of pipe. I have a shooting trip this weekend and dont think any orders i place now will arrive in time.

FJ, you're welcome, and welcome to Calguns...

BTW, nice FJ, FJ. I almost got one a year ago, but ended up with a 100-series Cruiser instead. FJ80's are also awesome, but used ones in good shape are just about non-existent. So far, ATRAC is phenominal, I'm keeping up w/ 80's with factory lockers...

I've used an AR-15 carbine buttstock wrench with much success on mine.
