    Mossberg Ghost Ring Sight Adjustments

I'm preparing to zero my ghost ring sights on the 590A1, and the manual has a nice diagram on windage/elevation adjustments. You're supposed to turn a wheel under the ring for elevation, but I cannot seem to make it move easily as there are raised parts on the wheel that hit against parts of the sight leaf.

Now I guess they are there to provide positive lock of the sight, but is there a trick to overcoming those, or are they normally so friggin tight you cannot turn the wheel with your fingers?

Nevermind - I see how it works. I pull up on the ring, spin the wheel to the next set of stops.

Did you install the sight yourself or did they come on the gun? If you did the install how difficult was it?

It was factory installed. Putting the rear ring assembly on shouldn't be hard - the front sight post needs to be soldered onto the barrel, which might pose a problem depending on your equipment and experience.

We didn't have sights like that on the 590s when I was in the Marines. I've never ran into a sight like that in all my 30 plus years of shooting. Who would ever naturally think of pulling on the ring to make the adjustments?

Yeah I did not figure the rear one would be to difficult but it did have a warning that a gunsmith would need to install it which is what has prevented me from buying one at this point.

Haha it's a bit of a pain, I ran into the same problem on my GR's on my 590A1. It's a great shotgun even if the GR's are a bit of a pain. Although I think the 930SPX has a slightly different style of GR that has more user friendly adjustment knob.
