    Do I need a 870P and a Wingmaster?

Ok need some input from the members. I bought a 50s Wingmaster like new for $200 and a replacement 20" barrel that seems to match time period. Now I ran into a deal for a 870P for $400 also like new. Should I buy the 870P as well? Thanks Now for pics.

Two different shotguns for two different jobs. I would happily buy an 870P for 400. I would extend the magazine on that 870.

No. Sell me that Wingmaster and you'll be set. I'll even give you a profit!

Yep. The 870P for home defense and the Wingmaster for clays.

I think $400 for that 870P is a bargain. I have the same rifle sights on mine. They help a lot when shooting slugs.

Do you need them both? No, of course not.

Did I need both the little blond and the tall brunette?

No, but I sure enjoyed having them both.

(Yes I'm bragging, but it's a very good analogy.)

Same weapon but different finishes.. You put a short barrel on the Wingmaster so you don't need the 870P, however, need and want is not the same so if you want it, get it.

Killer deal on that 870p for $400 smackers. I'd pick it up.

Well I don't know. At the same time that you picked up the Hi-Point 9mm, I had a member here contact me when I was looking for a 870. I scored a like new 870 Marine Magnum with a speed fed stock, Vang Comp safety and Tac- Star shell holder. All of that for exactly what you paid for your 870p. Basically, I sold my mossberg 500 and kicked in an extra $50.00 for the upgrade to the Marine.
You did much better than I did though!

I would get both - I did! I paid <$350 for my 870P with an extended magazine. The WM for Clays, Skeet, Hunting and the 870P for HD. Of course, you could get a longer barrel for the 870P and have it do double duty, plus it can take the 3" rounds that the WM (1950's) couldn't.

Be warned, you're going to end up with a lot of barrels. I've got barrels that can be exchanged between the 870s (20" rifled deer, 18" RS, 26" VR, 26" non VR, 28" VR, 18" VR). Do you have chokes for that WM? Get a barrel that'll take the RemChoke for patterning.
I'm not having a glass of wine, I'm having SIX. It's called a tasting and it's classy.

Let me know if you decide to sell that Marine Magnum. I had an opportunity to pick one up at Ades, but didn't have the funds at the time when I went back it was sold. I would like to have a trio of 870s in 3 different finishes. So I'm going ahead and getting the 870P to go side by side with my M590A1.
