I have an old savage shotgun model 67 series C. It was given to me by my grandfather. A buddy of mine called and wanted to go to the range on saturday. The problem is I have hundreds of 3" shells for my mossberg. Does anybody know the chamber size? I don't really wanna go out and by a bunch of 2 3/4" shells. Thank you

The barrel should be marked with the chamber size. I'll bet dollars to doughnuts it's only a 2.75" chamber.

Go to Walmart Remington boxes of 25 are only 4.50 or so each.

Im about 99% sure its only a 2 3/4 chamber man id have to double check.

The 67 was made with three inch chambers in some quantity. Most would be 2.75 to my understanding.

It absolutely should be stamped on the barrel. Check for the maker's hallmark, either left of right side of barrel and maybe halfway up from the receiver toward the muzzle. Someplace near where the gauge is listed it should also indicate the chamber size.

The model I have is super old and a little rusty. I took the shotgun to have it refinished. I think its only 2 3/4". Thanks guys

Very WRONG.
A shotgun chamber length is based on the length of the shell AFTER firing. A 3" shell is very likely only 2-3/4" or less before firing and will fit in a barrel chambered for 2-3/4". The chamber is set so the shell crimp will open completely.
