Anyone own one of these. It says it should shoot low base shells. My friend wants to get one if he can use it for Duck and Dove. Should he get the 3" or 3 1/2"? Any complaints about this gun. Pricy gun, that's why he's got me asking around before he dives in. Thanks Pat

Read the American Rifleman review and they loved it, they said it no problem with the lighest target loads all the way up to the heaviest magnums.

Oh yeah he might as well get the 3 1/2 for the versatility

It's supposed to be the next in line after the Gold and uses the same technology. My 3" gold hunter can fire anything from the light 7/8 oz target loads up to lead, steel, and tungsten magnums without a problem. The only complaint I have about the new gun is the inability to extend the mag tube since the forend stock seems to cover the magazine and I think unplugged, it only holds 4 shells, which is plenty for hunting since you need 2+1, but for competition, 4 is practically useless.

It looks to be pretty sweet.

Get the 3-1/2. It will have higher resale value down the road.
