Brownells and Midway have scabbards in leather.

I had one made by my saddle-maker to fit an Ithaca 37. Less than $100, comfortable for both me and the horse.

True wealth is time. Time to enjoy life.

Life's journey is not to arrive safely in a well preserved body, but rather to slide in sideways, totally worn out, shouting "holy schit...what a ride"!!

If you're just using it for transport and/or messing around (ie. your life does not depend on it) then just go with one of these from eBay. They all run about $25 and work great! I have one for my Mossy and it works great on the back of one of my carriers, (again, just for messing around.)

Just search "shotgun scabbard" on eBay and you'll get all the color choices and "Buy Now" options.

Here's an old photo of my load out w/ the scabbard poking over the top...

By transportation, are you just talking about to and from the range/desert? If so, head to Wal Mart and pick up a cheapo long-gun case. If you're just trying to keep you gun from getting dinged up in the truck, there's no need to go nuts and get all tacti-crazy IMO.

Looking for a cool baldric type scabbard for my SXS Stoeger myself.

What are people using when they transport their shotguns with barrel removed? Or, perhaps, no one rides a bicycle or motorcycle when carrying their shotgun to the range? I'm thinking all I need is a soft case, with padded separation of components.

Don't go for Condor if you're looking for a serious item. If it's just going to be used to haul your gun to and from the range, sure, but if you're going to do anything rough with it it'll fall apart fast.
