Depends on what barrel you are talking about. Some beads are pressed in not threaded. What barrel did this happen to?

i was trying to take the bead off to put on a fiberoptic bead on a 18" barrel. the old bead broke almost flush with the base. the cut pliers didnt work so i dremeled it flush and will be trying to drill and retap the base. if that wont work ill just have to get one of those snapon sights.

Use a reverse drill bit if you drill. It might just come right out. You might need to heat it up with a lighter as they usualy put threadlocker in the hole as the screw usually just sits in the hole and isn't locked into place.

You could also try dremeling a slot for a screwdriver.

Drill a hole in the center. Not touching, but close to the threads. This will release the pressure. Then try to spin it out with a small EZ out, (I've done it by tapping a knife into the brass and spinning it after the drilling.) You could carefully Scrape the brass out of the threads with an exacto knife, Or rethread from there. The tap will cut through the brass to the threads. Be careful not to cross thread if you try the last suggestion.

18"and 18.5" Remington barrels have a pressed in bead so there is nothing to do but drill it out. The stem that is in there is not threaded. An easy fix is to epoxy an XS Big dot on the base and not bother with the stem that is in the base.
