930 problem quick answer needed

hey guys, i was just cleaning my 930 SPX And i noticed the pusher assembly is cracked down the thinnest part of the piece. my gun functioned fine before and the crack must have developed during the last shooting session.

i am just wondering if the pusher is able to still be used with a crack in it? its really dense polymer... and i really need to use my shotgun today but this puts a damper on things. im hoping if it does break i can at least still use my shotgun with manual cycling of the bolt am i right?

Pusher? Do you mean the magazine follower in the feed tube? It should be a round piece of black plastic.

If so you can buy stainless or aluminum followers for about $20 that will never crack.

pusher assembly. its a black plastic cylindrical piece has the two rods sticking out and they hit the bolt making it cycle back.



f*ck it. im gonna go hopefully it will work for one more day ive got about 300 rounds to go through!




btw: not sure about your gun but ive never had a plastic follower in mine. (m 500, 590 SP, 590 A1, 930spx)

The follower in my 930 is plastic.

Now I know what you mean by the pusher. Thats a bummer. I'd be calling Mossberg because if that lets go while shooting it might cause you or the shotgun serious harm.

The pusher assembly on a 930 is what fits over the mag tube and has the operating rods attached. If the plastic tube ( don't like that but it is what it is ) portion is cracked, definitely give Mossberg a call and see about getting a replacement.

the follower is not really the issue here, unfortunately. if it was it would be a very easy fix !


but its all good! i went out today and had a blast. went through about 350 rds in 2 hours.

i figured that the worst that could happen, is the plastic breaks off, and the gun would essentially be a bolt action shotgun for the day. no big deal



the real excitement was when 2 does decided to walk across the shooting range during a session. they were rather large and not really intimidated by the bullets going off around them. they walked through right while we were all shooting. stupid!
