The FN Self-Loading Police Shotgun (SLP) is a very compact, fast-cycling semi-automatic shotgun with a more traditional stock design. The 18” barrel and 6-shot magazine make it ideal for stowing in vehicles, boats and aircraft, for home security and for operations in close quarters by law enforcement.

I've been looking at semi auto shotguns casually and this is one of the shotguns I've actually been interested in. I'd appreciate it if you put up pics of your new baby and let us know how she performs. Congrats!!! Lucky dog.

The receiver spring can be somewhat stiff when it's new so store it bolt open for the first week or two.

The FN SLP absolutely rocks! I have the Mk I version and it shoots soft, cycles quickly and slings slugs out to 100Y accurately.

Love mine. Even with an M4 and an S12 I think the SLP is still my favorite. Mine shoots everything.

If semi-auto SG's have a failure to eject, can you still "pump" out the casing?

You can just rack the charging handle like a semi-auto rifle.

Same here. Price increases on the SLP in recent years made it hard to justify.

I use to have an Benelli M1 Super90 it's an awesome shotgun. I have not shot an M4 yet. I went with SLP coz of the good owners review. Looks like its a great purchase.

Honestly I love them both but I find the SLP more comfortable to shoot. The Benelli really needs a shorter LOP for me. The SLP tends to be more controllable and softer to shoot to me. It's not a huge difference but I definitely shoot the SLP more than either of the other two. It was picky about low recoil rounds for the first few hundred shells but now works with almost everything. I'm very happy with mine especially considering I think I paid $700 for it. I've shot both and they both felt about the same-ish recoil and controllability-wise, however I have the correct arm length so I didn't have LOP issues with the M4...my friend however did have LOP issues with the M4 but felt the SLP was just fine and thus more comfortable.

M4 is a lot easier to clean because it is easier to take apart and easier to put back together. Now there a lot of reasons not to get the M4 based lack of different length barrels however (there is only one length, 18.5). SLP is far more adaptable since you can get a 26" barrel with interchangeable chokes to make a very decent clay gun.
