    Beretta Question

I'm considering a Beretta A400 Explorer and would like to know if anyone has had any experience with this gun.

I'm looking for a nice shotgun to shoot clays with. Is there another option that would be better in the $1600 price range?

With that kind of money to spend I'd PM ysr racer. He is the resident clay expert on here.

Other wise check at the trap and skeet clubs.
I move slow but I make up for it by shooting poorly.

When I hit the lotto I'm only shooting factory.

$1600 will get you into a Browning Citori 12ga with 28" barrel at Turners.

Try it out to see if it fits you.

Citoris are fine guns but if you plan on hunting with that gun, buy the Beretta. I absolutely love my xtrema

Limited to sporting clays? Semi-auto or O/U?

My Teknys Gold Sporting is pretty awesome...and heavy.

I would like the option of hunting but 99% of it's use will be for clays.

I'm thinking semi-auto. What would be the benefit of an over under?

This is a graduation present from myself so I want something nice.

Turners West Covina has a brand new Teknys Gold Sporting for $1639.00. That would be a nice present!

Get a Beretta Xtrema 2 with Kick off.

I have one and love it, I shoot Sporting Clays, Trap, and Hunt with it.
Only draw back is, its kind of a pain to clean. I paid $1500.00 for mine OTD.

My problem with the Xplor is how freaking light that gun is. It's pretty awesome from what I've seen, but I'd much rather have it for ducks.

I shoot skeet with a Franchi Renaissance Sporting...but I prefer double guns in general. I like the way they swing, they are usually shorter overall, even with 30'' barrels, and I like their heft.

The benefits and costs vary, what kind of clay shooting? Skeet, Trap, Sporting Clays, Five Stand? They all are fairly different enough that one could justify needing a specific shotgun for all of them...

I usually shoot ones that have been hand thrown.

I'm not sure what the difference between trap, skeet, etc. I guess I want something that is a jack of all trades.
