I'm really fond of the Tacstar +2 mag extension due to the monolithic construction and lack of a spring-catching dimple/ring or bayonet mount, but I do not like the omission of a mag clamp in the package. I also miss having a forward 6:00 sling point. Tacstar's mag clamp leaves a lot to be desired, given the 3/9:00 sling position and poor material choice. It would seem that all other aftermarket clamps are made of multiple (often plastic) pieces are bulky and suffer from similar design choices that Tacstar made.
I wanted a single piece Remington style clamp that had a sling mount. I finally found it: http://www.tanksrifleshop.com/trs/cc...hdclamp_1.html
I don't have a picture of it installed, but it is NICE! I'm really looking forward to taking it out to test its ability to resist recoil. I wish I had found these guys sooner, the quality of the clamp is great as is the sling swivel. I'd like it better if it was blued instead of phosphated, but it's a nice heavy and clean park job. I'll try to get pictures soon.
