    Replacement Barrel for Rem. 1100

Will a Remington 870 barrel fit on a model 1100? A friend has a Remington 1100 that he would like to get an 18-20 inch barrel for. Are these barrels interchangeable?

I may be completely wrong here but last time I checked for my 1100 the answer was no. Midway does have some parts that are 870/1100 interchangeable but, last time I looked, they did not include barrels. However, I do know that the last Midway catalog had some pretty good deals on 1100 parts so it shouldn't be too painful.

If I am out of my mind someone pls chime in.

      Simple answer no.

an 1100 barrel will not fit an 870 or the other way around. I believe the same is true for a 1100 and a 11-87 but have no first hand knowledge of that.

It would make sense because I think the 1100 can only take 2 3/4 loads.

Nope/ Gas Operated.. What kind of barrel you looking for? I have a 30" vent rib/full choke barrel you could cut off if you didn't need chokes...

Looking for a 20 inch for 00 Buck and slugs but don't want to cut down a longer barrel to get there. This 1100 has a 30" full choke barrel that indicates 2 3/4" and 3" magnum shells.

Different critters, won't fit. My 1100 came with a non changeable choke on a 28" barrel. I found two others used for a great price. One here on CG and another local. Expect a new barrel to run about $200-300, but you can find them on sale. Hope this helps.

BTW, mine is a 3" mag...
