    What sling do you have?

I need to find a good sling for my mossberg 590..
I don't know anything about slings.. I'd prefer one that is at cheaper than dirt since I am about to make an order from there anyway..

    thanks

Cheaper Than Dirt! is America's Ultimate Shooting Sports Discounter, and we live up to that title. Expect bulk ammo deals, discounts, gun care accessories and more

I didn't see a simple two point sling in stock on its website today, but I do have one of the Uncle Mike's shown above and it works well. I found attaching it with the opposite ends, fore & aft, works better for me though compared to the photo.

PS: I just noticed this other one. This one might work for you, but estimate the length you'll need before ordering it. http://www.cheaperthandirt.com/44567-1.html

Would be interesting to see if anyone has particularly good ideas about a sling for Mossi-500?

I first started with this one on my Remington 870. http://www.cheaperthandirt.com/44942-1.html After taking a shotgun class with it turned out it was not the sling for me.

Wound up ordering this one instead, http://www.spectergear.com/870_tps.htm and it's fit's the bill just right for me.

For a Mossberg 500, my recommendation is generally the same. Depending on the exact model, a front sling mounting point will need to be purchased.

My 500ATP came with swivels from the factory. I use a bandolier sling (15 00B and 10 rifled slug) that came from CTD. I think it's made by Ace Case. It's shoulder carry only, but thats all I want it for on that gun.

I'd note that this is not my HD gun. I use an 870 Police for that with no sling. Slings on HD guns are, generally, counter productive. I have a simple two point tactical sling for the 870 if I have to take a class with it. The Mossberg is for travelling / camping / bugging out.

This one looks like no adapter needed. http://www.spectergear.com/500_tps.htm

I have the VCAS 2 point padded. I like it.
It's just the right length for a shotgun, and the padding is nice since shotguns are a little heavier.

I use the VTAC sling adapter to attach it to the stock.

Thanks for the hint. Mine has arrived today and it seems to be right on. I have put on the way you suggested and like it this way better. Pretty sturdy and well-made piece of equipment.

I second the VTAC 2 point sling. Stay away from any of the three point slings, it's just more material to get tangled up in.
