I think I saw someone shooting clays at the very far end of the rifle range on the right (the side towards the steel pistol range) side. I guess there must be some kind of a thrower? How does it work? Do you have to pay extra? or just bring your own clays and just use the thrower?

Question about Angeles range

if you bring your own clays you can use the first thrower which is in the shade. or you can put money on a card and use their clays. its not much of a savings bringing your own clays but i guess if you buy a bunch when you go to walmart, it can add up. -
If you are interested in casual clay shooting, you should check out A Place to Shoot in Saugus / Valencia.
It's a longer drive than Angeles Ranges, but they have a nice wide open clay range with 10-12 manual throwers.
The sell large boxes of clays (I think they are ~130 per box) for like $14, so I just buy a box from them.
I hadn't shot clays until recently, and its a lot of fun. I'm not very good, which is why I like the clay range at A Place to Shoot. More casual and relaxed, nobody staring at you. And it's not as busy, so there's always plenty of open spaces at all of the ranges.Comment
