It is everything that Beretta owners over at shotgunworld.com say it is. Mine is a never-fired 2005 Urika autoloader with Optima plus chokes and synthetic stock. This is mostly for upland, clays, and skeet with clays being the most usage.
Right out of the case, I shoot 100 rounds of Remington STS light loads and Wal-Mart's Remington Promo shells (Sport Load) without a single failure. This is without the recommended break-in with heavy loads.
The STS were 12gauge, 2-3/4 length, 2-3/4 DRAM, 1-1/8 oz., and 8 shot rated at 1145fps. I expect this Urika to fire 7/8oz with no problems either.
Recoil was tame to where I could have shot another 200 rounds or more with no discomfort issues.
Breakdown is simple and easy to clean. This shotgun is much better than the Browning Gold Fusion in this regard. The Browning Golds have a more complex gas recycling system which require abit more care in removing/installing the barrel and cleaning.
The Urika is abit heavier than the Gold Fusion, however. The Browning Gold series is a good shotgun as well, but does not seem to like lighter loads as the Berettas.
I have only one remaining mystery that needs to be solved which is why is that most used shotgun for sale here and in other forums tend to be the tactical variety?
