Norinco lever action model 1887

Well, I have never seen one being used for cowboy action shooting. Don't know if that remarks on the gun or not. You might want to try over on some of the CA boards.
Oh yeah, I'll be back..... -
I have shot the norinco and didnt like it. It wouldnt eject the round and was essentially a single shot shotgun. The customer said he has to have alot of work done to it and it still doesnt function like it should. Also alot of recoil.
Gd luck if you do decide to purchase one i have always wanted one but after i shot one it would really have to be a great price.Rights modified on a "need" basis, IS the root of tyranny

I've got one and I've never had a problem with it, I did notice that you need to slam the lever open to get a good ejection of the old round they are tight but fast. If you are recoil sensitve you may want to try something else cause they can beat you up. I love shootin slugs though mine and its a great pig gun
never tried it in CAS though cause I like my SxS better for that.

I've shot a few of them, and seen them used in cowboy shoots. I have seen some of them have extractor issues from the factory, which sort've turned me off them, but if you can get one that doesn't have those issues/have that fixed, they're fun to shoot.
A major plus on the barrel being right at eye level, you rack the lever open and you're looking right down the barrel at whatever you intend to shoot. It's cool if nothing else, but also possibly useful for quick target acquisition if you have a steady hand.
I've also heard many "old-timers" call them widow-makers though. Horror stories about bolts coming loose and being driven into the shooter's skull and what not. Never looked into it, could just be stories.Comment

Ouch! sounds painful!
Sure looks like a fun shotty. There is nothing like it out there. Just love the uniqueness of it."Good friends, good food & good wine. Anything else is just a waste of soy sauce.":)Comment
