    Top folding stock

Was looking into a Mossberg 500, and was wondering if a top folding stock is legal on it?

I don't have pictures on this computer, I like it, they have changed it for the better since I bought mine. The rubber on the back is much more shoulder friendly now. Here is a link with pictures of it.

I have the ATI stock - no problems at all in a few hundred rounds of normal 2 3/4" 9 pellet buck.

Do you get a decent cheek weld? Is there sloppiness/play when stock is extended?

I like that looks better than the others. But if it is painful for me, then it would be worse on the spouse.

I guess it depends how you define decent cheek weld. I'm obviously not wing shooting with the thing, so I wouldn't call it a "weld," but I'm not afraid to have my cheek on it. It isn't as uncomfortable as it looks. It has some slop in it when it is folded, but it is a lot sturdier than I thought it would be fully extended. I put the ATI shell holder on it too - it all works pretty good together. The real trick is making sure the bolt holding the pistol grip in is TIGHT. After that it serves its purpose great. It makes a shotgun handy, and really easy to transport. I think the ATI stock takes crap it really doesn't deserve from people that have never actually used one.

Here is a link to another thread I posted on here with a BUNCH of pictures of my gun with the stock on it, as well as a description of how it all works together.

Another nice thing is the way it has a swivel stud built in.

Thanks! It looks great . I think the ATI stock looks the best as well.

No problem. A lot of times when people are talking trash on a company or product, they haven't actually USED it. You know how rumors spread...

Don't know about Mossberg, but the factory over-the-top folding stock for the Remington 870 is just about the most useless piece of sewage you can put on a shotgun---worthless (folded or extended) and painful to shoot, I believe the only thing they had in mind was to take up less space when stored---shoot one and you will be looking to dump the stock ASAP!
