Mossberg heatshield on Breacher

Anyone know if it is at all possible to get a heatshield on a Mossberg 500 breacher? I waited a month because the shield was backordered, finally got it, now it's looking like it's not gonna fit. Barrel is thick, especially where it flares towards the breacher tip. It looked too small for me to even start trying to coax it and scratch the he'll out of the finish. I could swear I've seen this gun with a heatshield somewhere, looking to see how it got on there.

*I am aware there is probably no benifit to a heatshield, but it scares the crap out of zombies and post apocolyptic biker gangs almost as much as my breacher tip.*

Looking at the pictures on Mossberg's site I'd say you're probably screwed. Only so many silly things you can combine on a shotgun I guess. You've got the bead off, right?

I took the heat shield off my 590 recently, turns out it wasn't really necessary. I had already gotten in the bad habit of picking up shotguns by grasping around the barrel. That can really bite you if you pick up someone else's gun that's been heated up good .

If it's the same shield as what they ship on some 590 models, no. The front end is considerably tighter than the rear end. Neither ends will slip over the breach end of the barrel.
