Saiga 12 compliance

I have a Saiga 12 and I have been seeing new ones for sale, "California legal" with a pistol grip, and in two versions. First one with the FCG in the original sporting rifle position and the pistol grip as part of an aftermarket stock. Second version, the FCG has been relocated to the more familiar forward (AK) position with the pistol grip also in it's normal location. With a bullet button and enough US parts to make it 922 compliant, is this really "California legal" If so, I will convert mine.

As long as the stock is fixed, non-folding/collapsing, the magazine is locked with a bullet-button type mag lock, and it meets the minimum length, it is good to go. Pistol grip is not an issue.

If you have an aw version that is registered does it still fall under 922 or is it exempt from it?
