Remington model 11 - info request

We found this Remington Model 11 in 12 ga. inthe back of a closet. Can you give aus a clue as to the manufacture date, or any other details?

The rec serial number is 2627:




There's a proof mark on the barrel:



And a butchered stock:



Haven't ever shot it, but hope to in a few weeks.

The Model 11 is a fine gun - I have one that belonged to my grandfather - bought in 1946. They are patterned after the trusty Browning A5.

Looks like an early gun, They were first built in 1905. maby the first year or two? Before barrel codes....................
