    Shotgun front sight

Does anyone have the remington XS front sight on their shotgun? I was curious to know how they work out, if after installation there were any problems. I don't want to the go the route of ghost ring sights. Right now I have a ramped bead 18" remington and I want to keep cost down and have a simple more visible sight.

I am talking about the front sight only that fits the ramped bead on the remington 870.

XS recommends using J-B Weld to glue their sight onto the 870 bead sight and I understand it's a very durable system. Their sight is mounted directly over the existing bead sight, inset into the back of the pedestal so it's the same hight as the bead.

You might want to give XS a call. I'm sure they'll be glad to answer any questions you may have.

I just got some of the XS rifle sighted barrels in. I am not impressed and can't for the life of me understand the justification of the price Remington is charging for these barrels. I threw them on Gun Broker to get them out of my shop but may keep a few for my builds as some clients might get it, I don't, but they may.

thats a shame about the sights. i havnt seen anyone with them on their shotgun probably a good reason why. i am still looking for an affordable alternative high visibility front sight to replace the ramped bead. any suggestions?

Yes, install an XS big dot. Install it properly and it will stay on. I installed them on four weapons for a local PD and are still on and these weapons are in and out of the rack at the end and begining of every shift so they get more abuse then any of us would put our weapons through.

I misunderstood your posting and thought you were asking about the rifle sights and comment on them in an earlier reply.

The Big Dot tritium is a great sight and will enhance your weapon.
