Trivia Time - or - Where the hell did this come from ?

This piece appeared around my foot while i had my Norinco m37 model apart this evening. I cant find disassembly instructions online for it but i did find some for the Ithaca 37 proper.

This piece seems to exist no where in there and i cant figure out where the hell its from otherwise as there are no empty recesses this bit could be seated in.

And from the Ithaca diagram pdf i did find, the closet part was the spring assembly under the extractor on the breach assembly - but i didn't take the breach assembly apart :

Id really appreciate the help thanks!

I was going to say it looked to be an ejector assembly. Check your receiver for an empty hole.
Otherwise re-assemble the gun (using dummies) cycle it and see what doesn't work right.

Let us know what it is when you find out...looks important.

It may be a broken "slide pin", with the "slide pin spring". Nomenclature is for the Ithaca M-37.

Its not a slide pin. and its not the extractor pin (held under the extractor finger on the breach assembly)

I just had an email conversation with someone who has owned one of these and is a general fan of the norinco shotguns and after discussing the situation, is coming to the same conclusion i am : Didn't come from this gun

Now i have another interesting thing to deal with .... where did it come from ? lol
