    Mossberg Comes Through

Finally! After the barrel made two trips to the factory (both at my expense ) without resolving the problem of FT extract, sight issues, the second time it came back it was worse. After malfunctioning at one too many matches I was fed up and demanded a shipping label to send the whole gun back. I didn't have to get nasty or anything, just persistent.

Timing was great, gun went back Dec. 09 and I went to the SHOT show in Jan.2010. I made a beeline for the Mossberg booth. I nabbed two executives, one sales and one service. I bent their ear for about 20 minutes about my experience with both my gun and their service department. We took a display SPX apart and it was appearent, mine was AFU. I even asked, "Do I have to change my screen name to BenelliGuy?".

Jesus G. took personal responsibility for my service and within two weeks a brand new replacement SPX arrived via Fed-Ex.

The new gun is working very well and I see how it earned "Gun of the Year 2009". All the things that were wrong with the other gun is gone with this one. With a little more confidence building, it may replace my Benelli as a front row SG (right next to the 500, 590 and Vang 590) in the safe.

All in all Mossberg did stand behind their product, I'm just disappointed I had to go to the extremes I did to "git'r done".

I am always sad to hear stories like this. It mars the reputation of what has been for me a friggn' unstoppable, reliable SA shotgun. I love my 930SPX ... it just eats everything and isn't fussy at all about being especially clean or lubed. I wish everyone had the same experience!

Nice, I'm glad they came through for you.
I love my mossbergs too. My wife shoot trap with a 500 and I shoot trap with my 930 and I have my fun SG 500 w/ knoxx sidewinder...
Still want to get a 590 though and maybe a mariner special purpose with the 20" barrel...

        Very good to hear.

I recently bought a barrel for my 500 and the detent and spring were cockeyed on receipt and fell out completely during inspection. Need to get hold of them and see what they will do.
