    +1 (throw it away)

    I would add ... get a Mossberg 590!

Wow, mine will jam every couple hundred rounds or so, but nothing like that, and never twice in a row, its also only happens with Bird Shot, and have short hundreds of slugs and bucks with Zero Hiccups. The steel wool should clean it up nicely.

I have noticed that it happens much more often when using the cheap winchester wally-world bulk ammo. I think it is a combination effect.

Rough chamber + cheap steel cased ammo (the case seems to stay expanded more than brass) = shell stuck in chamber.

Rough chamber + brass case ammo = no problem

Smooth chamber + steel case ammo = no problem

Up untill I took this video I only had 3 jams in the few hundered shots I pit through it, then I go to take this video and I have all these jams... After this video I only had one more jam, and we put about 50 shells through it with no problem. It was Wally world federal bulk that I was using when I took this video.

Bet it was Winchester value packs that caused the jam.

Federal Bulk is steel also, buy a box of brass like Winchester AA target or Federal Hi-Brass and see if you get the same result.

When I was going through this I started trying different types of ammo to see if it made a difference, it did. I never had it happen with brass shells only steel ones. Then I looked at the differences in the shells, what I noticed was that after firing the steel cased shells had a larger diameter than the brass.

My non-scientific conclusion is that brass cased shells are more elastic and return to their original size after firing, while the steel cased ones are not as springy and are therefore more likely to hang up and stick on any irregularities in the chamber.

i have only had a prob when using the winchester ammo other than that mine always worked prefect...and i did notice that they were the shells w/steal..all the others were brass

It is my understanding that the quality control on the recent 870 Express models leaves much to be desired in the chamber of the barrels and other rough edges---not properly polished creating failures to eject with some/all ammo. I would send the barrel back to Remington and let them fix it. I currently own three 870s---A Wingmaster 28" mod. barrel and two older Police models (one 2 3/4" and the other with 3" chambers) polished blue with 18" and 21" barrels---two of these shotguns are over 25 years old---it hurts to think that quality control at Remington has reached such a low point that a pump gun is no longer reliable. All three of my guns run 100% with ANY ammo and exhibit the reliability the has made the 870 shotgun an American legend.

Its the Remington 870 tactical, I only use the shoulder stock when shooting clay, besides that the pistol grip is way more fun and doesn't leave me sore the next day.
