browning b-80 info

i bought a used browning b -80 a few years back its semi auto . fun to shoot. cost 200 bucks . it just dont seem to like light loads. i have no manual on this gun . i have cleaned the parts i can get to . i just cant find any info on this gun . any one know any thing about it . the only thing i would like on it is replacable choke tubes as the barrel is a fixed full choke . thanks in advance .

Take the forearm off and make sure the gas ports are clean. You should then have no problem with light loads. I have a Beretta AL-2 (same gun) and it shoots everything as long as it is clean.

i did that and they were filthy and clogged . should i dig any deaper during cleaning this gun . do you think 200 was a good price .its in great shape. is this one of those guns where it makes more sence to buy another one than to have the barrel reworked for chokes or buy a barrel that come with replacable chokes. sorry for all the questions but i have never met any one whow knows any think about this gun . did the build this model for a while or just a couple years ? thanks for your advice

Aside from cleaning the ports I don't have any ideas other than taking it to a gunsmith. $200.00 sounds fair to me if it is in good shape. They were made for a few years. Beretta made them for Browning and marketed similar guns for years under the Beretta name. If you can find a Beretta Al-1, Al-2, 301, 302, 303 barrel, they will all fit your gun.

It's a pretty good gun. I have one and it tends to like lead loads that push at least 3 1/4 dram - 1 ounce or 3 dram - 1 1/8 ounce. It does not like anything loaded light, or low recoil. It was made with lead loads in mind or hunting loads in lead and steel. It is the gun my brother uses for duck hunting, and I put many rounds through it for skeet and trap shooting many years ago. We still have it since my Bro likes shooting it. It is easy to break down and clean and has fewer parts that my Gold appears to have.
