    Mossberg Service.

Mossberg finally fixed my problem plauged SPX930. After 2 barrel replacements, then sending the complete gun in and bending the ear of a couple of receptive Mossberg executives at the SHOT Show they replaced my "Monday" gun.

I pleased to report the new SPX930 is operating as advertised. Firing and extracting even the lightest birdshot loads. Even the sights are well regulated. Slugs shot appropriately high at 25 yards for a 100 yard zero and centered. The "Monday gun" had the sights over all the way to the left to center them up. Tactical slugs shot low right while full power rounds hit center with the "MG". The new gun shoots both to the same poa at 25 yards.

So after a year of frustration with a gun that did not work I can finally enjoy the gun I thought I had bought in the first place. Boy it's fast and smooth.

I see your post is old - aware of that - but any updates on the SPX 930? How is it running thus far. A local dealer has them for a good price, and as I posted in another post - I bought my first shotgun in 1983 Mossberg 500 Cruiser for home defense, and I have had it ever since. Never fails to feed or extract, and NOTHING has ever broke on it. I still have it nearly 30 years later.

I saw ads for the SPX 930 and it made me think that if Mossberg ever made the 500 as a semi-auto, this SPX 930 would be it. I own numerous Benellis (2 M1s and an M4) as well as numerous other semi & pump shotguns, but the price of this SPX 930 can't be beat. Even a lower-priced Franchi (as good a deal as that is) can't touch it. I could buy TWO for the price of most other semi-autos.

Reviews everywhere are good; your problems with it are the only thing I've heard - thank you for posting.

So what of an update to your opinion now on the SPX 930?

I think a Monday gun is like buying a Monday car; one assembled by workers hung over from the weekend giving less attention than usual to their work. What is worse is a car assembled on the day of taking a strike vote when faced by a ridiculous management offer.
