Hawk 982 Barrel re-install?

So I took apart my Hawk 982 to clean it before shooting, and now I can't get the slide rails to go back into the receiver. What am I not doing right?

The linked video show the trick at about 3:40 in. It may take a few tries until you get the hang of it, but once you get it, it's a snap.
