    SBS in cali question?

I'm sorry as I'm sure this has been answered before, just having trouble finding the answer.

I was looking at the Shotgun flow chart, and saw that you can have an SBS if you have paid the stamp and have it registered. Now is that an assault weapons ban thing, where if you are grandfathered in your good but there aren't taking and new SBS registrations?

I'd quite like to make the barrel on my Mossberg pump even with the 5 deep mag tube. It is an 18.5" model i think its a good 3-4 inches I want to chop.

    Thanks in advance,
    Blake

the shotgun flowchart says that an SBS is legal if you comply with both state and federal law. CA requires you to get a CADOJ Dangerous Weapons permit for the SBS, which is virtually impossible to get.

It is possible to make an AOW out of a PG-only "shotgun" host gun and do what you want. However, the host gun can never have had a shoulder stock installed, and you may never install one. It must forever remain a PG-only firearm.

Do you want an AOW or C&R SBS/SBR in CA?

No posts of mine are to be construed as legal advice, which can only be given by a lawyer.
