    A plug of FN

I recently bought an FN SLP Mk1 through a dealer on GunBroker. All went well until I opened the box at home. To give you the Reader's Digest version, I almost immediately noticed a "ding" in the very rear of the rail that overlaps the receiver. As I looked closer, I could see that the rail was actually moved slightly to the left. I went ahead and did the initial cleaning, as one should do with any new firearm. Once the barrel was out, I noted 3 very obvious "scuff" marks or scoring in the lower part of the barrel just ahead of the breach. Keep in mind, new gun, never fired, at least by me. It came in the original package including the cardboard outer box.

I emailed the dealer first, who has excellent reviews on GunBroker, and he suggested I call FN. I did. THEY WERE AWESOME. And I mean awesome. I am still somewhat stunned by how they worked with me on this. The person I spoke with asked me to email pics, which I did. He was not happy with what he saw and said they would accept full responsibility and get it fixed, up to and including replacing the shotgun if necessary. The next day I received a prepaid UPS tag and took it to UPS. I'm now waiting to see what they are going to do. Whatever it is, I am convinced they will make it right. Kudos to FN for standing behind their products. The customer service guy said they strive to take care of all their customers and fully honor the 5 YEAR warranty on all their products. To me, this is worth posting.

The FN shotguns are very well made but the semi autos are over price in my opinion. When they first came out they were several hundred dollars less.

            Yup, but...

            ...still cheaper than a Benelli.
