    870 Barrel sight problem-HELP

I recently picked up an 870 express with 18.5" barrel for HD. The previous owner installed a barrel shroud that included sights. I later learned in order to properly install the shroud he ground off the original barrel sight. I now want to get rid of the shroud and go back to either a more original type front sight or glow worm type. I'm looking for someone in the N SD county area that can install a sight. Any suggestions are appreciated as barrel replacement is too costly. Thanks for the help..

The previous owner should be horse whipped.

I looked at that sight that Joe pssted and that would serve you well for HD. If you get sights brasied on then the barrel has to be refinished and nobody does the matte finish that is on your barrel. Go with the one Joe posted and you save a lot of trouble and save some money.

Thanks. I actually was at Cabelas in Salt Lake City over the holiday and looked at these. The problem is that they depend on the existing front sight to center and keep the clip-on in place. Without the front sight they are pretty random.

A brand new vangcomp barrel is on sale on www.vangcomp.com for $220.

Or stock 870 barrel can be like $100ish.

No way to the Tac-lock sight! Cannot repeat sight adjustments. No witness marks. LPA rear sights with the Trijicon front sight.
