    Target and Lite Loads

    Hi

I just got my first shotgun, got a Win1300 12 gauge. What are good loads for target and range day lite loads?

Walmart sells 100 packs of 1 1/8oz lead shot loads from both Winchester & Federal.

I find the Win a little softer but that is just me. they will work just fine and be the lowest cost as well.

I just picked up 2 packs of the Federal. A WalMart on the other side of town had Remington target loads for about a buck more. Any experience on those?

Any of the Wally promo loads will work fine. Buy 'em and shoot 'em.

The target/game loads are prime. Anything involving birdshot will be the best for a target load.

the remington sts and nitro 27 at walmart and winchester double a's(AA)if you can find them.
are far superior to the winchester "cheap hunting loads".

if you want to kill a pheasant the chaeapies are okay because they are big and easy to knock down but with clays the patterns are too loose and you will miss a lot you should have hit.

this will make you think you are not a very good shot when it is the round.

when it comes to clays it is not just throw lead at a disc.

use your full chke and learn to follow through on your shot. you will learn the proper way and it will stick with you all your life.
