still in the market for a saiga 12. Found a couple of sources (Thanks to CGF members!) now I'm just price shopping.

So....how much did you guys pay for yours?

Got a converted one from Peach State. It was $899.The workmanship is 1st class. Very fun to shoot.

I have my suspicions that these will come down in price. Does anyone else think so? I can't really put my suspicions in to words though, so perhaps it's just wishful thinking.

I hope they do! I watched them go up in price and stock on hand go down.

It's an awesome gun, but the lowest I've seen one sell for in the last few months is about $550...kinda high for a standard Saiga in any chamber...

mine was 510 last year ( came from out of state)so +60 out of state dros,+15shipping, +25 b.b.=610.00 - not bad b/c at the time cold war wanted 999.00

maybe they did. SKS rifles used to be 89$ and you could pick up a AK or Mak 90 for 200$. I think in other states they are still selling for 400-450$ NIB. But who the hell is gonna be stupid enough to sell them for that price when Cali models demans another $ 200ish more for the same model with a stupid piece of 4$ metal attached to the mag release. I know I would try and sell as many as possible to Cali residents.

Looooooooooooooooooong before the Obama craze, maybe. Immediately before? No chance. In post SB-23 CA, they have never been as cheap as they are now.

I got mine unconverted for $800 but that was when only a select few gun shops in Cali had the cahoney to bring them in! I dont mind that i paid that much, I love it!!

Aww hell ain't that the truth even if I overpaid a little for any gun I have never regretted any of them.

maybe the sub $400 price i was thinking about is an Out-Of-State price. I didn't calculate in the fact that we here in CA get butt-raped when it comes to anything cool. I guess $550 doesn't seem to bad when taking all that into account..

btw..I paid almost $400 for my SKS in '08 and was thrilled about just being able to own one. Never had a moment of regret.

IMO, they should cost as much as the other saigas at $320 but I guess they hold their value or the price is set.
