I have no kids and currently store my SG in a fabric case underneath the bed. I'm considering storing it out of the case between the mattress and the box spring for much quicker access to it, but the bottom of the mattress has a bunch of fibrous material on it that I worry will come off and get into the gun over time. What to do?

I have no kids at home and mine leans by the bed. I kept it there even when I had kids but my wife and I kept the bed room door locked. These weapons have to be within reach or they are of little use.
I do however live in a rual area that see very little in the way of theft so I don't worrry about it getting stolen. I have a custom gun shop on my property that would be the target more then my home. I have 360 degree cameras and motion sensor lighting as well as alarms. They can still get in as response time for the SO could be as long as 20 minutes. So it is up to my K-9 and my 870.
Everyones situation is differnt but having the weapon near is the best way to keep it.JD McGuire, Owner

This is the Rifle Locker. It mounts in the wall, like a medicine cabinet between the wall studs. Excellent for those with kids or just need extra security for both long and handguns
