Mesa Tactical side saddle fitment issues?

Before I order the 6 shot side saddle, do I have to worry about fitment issues with the original 870 forend? BTW I have the express 18" model.

Only if you have a sport forend. If you have the LE forend any Mesa will work, even the 8 round.

If you have a sport forend only the Mesa 4 round will work.

It is simple to tell which forend you have. The sport comes back an inch or so on to the receiver and has checkering on it. The LE is a Speed Feed LE forend, is shorter then the sport forend and ends at the receiver. It is also ribbed, not checkered.

If U got the long one, cut off the excess with a hacksaw/dremel tool.
Took me 5 minutes.

Yes, that is the sport forend and yes, you can cut it off if you don't mind a jury rig forend on your weapon. You can get the Mesa 4 shot and not have to hack up your forend or get the Speed Feed LE forend and use any Mesa you want.

Hit it with the hack saw and some sand paper or a file and don't look back.

They cut clean and it's hard to tell you chopped it off.

There are bunch out there with this done. Spending another 20 to 40 bucks for another fore end makes no sence.

If you want I have an extra Hogue forend, that you can have. When I got my side saddle I ordered it bit it was backordered, in the meantime I got one off another CG member, then out of the blue a few days later the backordered Hogue showed up.

Woohoo I've got a free forened coming in the mail thanks to Vin496 I didn't really want to cut up my original forend anyways but thanks for the suggestions guys!
