Nice deal...$350 or so after paying OOS transfer/DROS. You gotta love Bud's!You will never, in your life, have a chance like this again.
If I were you, I would not pass this up. I would not let this go by...this is rare.
Come on...what harm??

So your saying a Remy 870 or or a mossy 500 can't be a good HD gun? Whats wrong with charles Daly? So if it's not expensive it's inferior?Last edited by FEMUN; 12-12-2009, 8:39 PM.Comment

I don't think anyone shot with a budget shotgun or a high dollar shotgun will know the difference.Comment

According to another thread Big 5 is getting another shipment of the Interstate 982's for $199.You think you know, but you have no idea.

FWIW, I spoke to the managers at both Ventura and Oxnard Big 5's regarding the 982's. They said that they have not seen the Interstate pumps available at their distribution center for over a year and that they didn't think that Big 5 was going to carry them anymore.
The manager at the Ventura location seemed knowledgeable in the firearms department. He told me he remembered how every time they got the 982's in, individuals would come in and buy 3 at a time.Comment

x2. I almost bought one from a friend for $100, went to check it out, cycled a couple snap caps and it jammed twice, out of 3 caps. He said that was unusual, but it did jam at least once a shooting trip, so...I said no thanks.Comment

Besides the price, this was another reason for buying the 982. Had it for almost 2 years now and have put close to 1300rnds of birdshot and 500 of buck, hasn't failed.Originally posted by compulsivegunbuyerI got an old High Standard riot gun that I got for $100 years ago. That's my HD shotgun. Whatever you use for home defence, the cops are going to take it, so you might as well use something that's not worth getting back."1911 mag, twinkie, twinkie, cupcake, primary weapon mag"

While I usually don't like to get into the "what price would you put on your life" argument, there's something to be said about the history of the design and brand. It's like comparing a Chery (chinese car that's new to the US) to a Toyota. Sure, a Chery probably has more features compared to a similarly priced toyota, but there's something to be said about the history of the toyota product. A Mossberg is virtually the exact same price as a CD. For an extra rail and pistol grip, is it worth trying out a CD versus a Moss?Comment

Compulsivegunbuyer makes an excellent point. If you use your any of your guns for self defense, it's evidence. It will be marked up and you may not get it back. That's one of the reasons I use a Glock and not a Nighthawk/Wilson/Heinie/any $2500 handgun for my SD pistol and my Mossberg 500 and 590A1 for HD (and truck guns) instead of my Benelli or custom 870.
So why do I own these other guns? I teach, I compete, I found a deal.Larry Renner
