M2 - M4 conversion

I've got a M2 20". Ive decided I want an M4 as a HD item. To save $ could I buy the M4 stock and a 18.5 barrel and configure the weapon depending on how i plan to use it? (skeet or scoundrels)
Any reason not to do this? Thanks!

Sell yours and buy an M4 or keep it and buy an M1 or M2 Ghetto blaster.

The Benelli M1/M2 is inertia recoil operated.
The Benelli M4 is gas-operated.

Which M2 do you have? They do not have a 20". There is a M2 Field 21" VR which is a fine shotgun.

You could put a 18.5" barrel on the M2 but it won't be cheap as Benelli barrels are $$$. For the price of the barrel, you could buy a nice Remi 870 Police or an Express and have money to spare. If you have a M2 Field 21" I'd just use it. It's not that much longer and unless you're clearing rooms you aren't going to really be swinging the barrel much. The Comfort tech stock is nice and although not tacticool, it's a good stock as well.

ok, must be a 21" then. Thanks for the clarification. If I sold it, it'd barely cover more then a 1/3 of the M4 sooo... Looks like it'll have an M4 for company soon Thanks. This forum is getting expensive

Really, only 1/3? A new M2 Field 21's go for around $11-200 these days.
