Help with info on my shotgun

I am trying to get some info on a shotgun passed down through my family.

It's a breech lock 12g shotgun. On the left hand side it is engraved Watham arms co. When you open the breach, on the bottom of the barrel area concealed when it is closed it says "patent pending August 11, 1898"

It also has what I assume is a serial number on the right hand side.

As soon as i get good pics I'll post them.

I have done a ton of searches and can not find anything on Waltham arms co.
If anyone could help with any info at all even a point in the right direction, that would be great, and very appriciated.

wow lots of info there thanks. Thanks a lot. So do you think this shotgun would be worth restoring or leave as is. The gun is covered in light to moderate rust but all parts are there? Rust to me would be the only damage. no chips, cracks, split barrel, nothing.
