    Sling Install on Remington 1100

    Hi Guys,

I have my Dad's Remington 1100 and it doesn't have sling swivels installed. I ordered this kit from Cabelas which includes the magazine cap swivel and a small stud to be screwed into the stock. I really don't want to screw up (no pun intended) the stock so does anyone have advice to the best way to drill my pilot hole? I don't have a drill press so I am looking for suggestions to stabilize the stock while I'm drilling, I don't want to end up with my rear stud off-center or angled.

    Thanks,
    sigpic

Might want to look into a single point sling. Check out this thread.
