    remington or benelli!! which one??

looking at gettin a shotgun but undecided on which one , looking for something for home defense with some what of a short barrel maybe 18" but also decent for some clays and maybe a rabbit or game bird, iam not to familiar with shotguns and barrel lenghts ! so any help would be great, iam leaning towards a remington 870 or a benelli nova pump!!

have you considered the MOSSBERG 28” VENT RIB 12-GA. PUMP SHOTGUN COMBO? Big 5 has them on sale for $280 now until Nov. 29th. It comes with a short barrel for home defense and a longer barrel for sporting. Best of both worlds at a very reasonable price if you ask me...

Generally speaking, people prefer shorter length barrels for home defense because they can easily maneuver the gun in tight spaces and longer barrels for sporting because they point better and pattern tighter.

I have honestly had no experience with the Benelli Nova, but as for Remington 870 vs. Mossberg 500, it's pretty much Ford Vs. Chevy. Both are great guns. Both have lots of aftermarket options. Both are well built.

As for what Wolfhound9k said, I agree 100%. At least consider the incredible value you get with the Big 5 combo. But if you have your heart set on the Remington 870 or Benelli Nova, no worries. You'll be happy with either

Well said. The Mossberg is a great shotgun and for $280 even better. When I worked at an indoor range, I saw a plenty of mossbergs from a big 5 sale come in. No problems that I can remember. I do like the Remington 870 myself. Been using one for while. Lots of accessories for the 870 out there.
