What's that trick called when you fly to Phx, spend the day with your wife's family, watch three football games on TV, and fall into a food coma on the couch?

Ben Avery CTC in Phx, call me crazy but I LOVE this place!!!

I'm always over in Phx for some reason or another, and I always shoot a round at the Ben Avery Clay Target Center when I'm here.

The weather was beautiful, the targets were perfect for the day after Thanksgiving, and the guys I shot with were friendly.

BACTC has a small "executive" course which is perfect for beginners, or for warming up before you head out to their 15 station "Rattlesnake" course.

They must have toned down the target presentations for the weekend, because even I was hammering them. In addition to the course being nice, everybody that works there was friendly and helpful. In fact one of the workers drove around and offered everybody free bottled water. Even though is was November, a cool drink came in handy.

I know they have a big three-day tournament scheduled Friday, March 12 - Sunday, March 14, 2010.

But Brad, are there any other reasons for me to come to AZ in March? I'm glad you asked.

Rio Salado Sportman's Club: Sure it's on the east side, but it's worth the drive, and fun to shoot at.
I-17: They're widening it so it's like a real freeway.
Golf courses: They've got a few
Indian Casinos: See above
Cabela's and Bass Pro: Check and check
Ray's Pizza: Best pizza and wings in Phx, and it's a hell of a lot closer than New York City.
Spring Training Baseball: Anybody but the Yankees next year.

And the number one reason to come to Phx in March:

The weather: It was mid 70s and sunny yesterday, it will be mid 70s and sunny in March.
