Mounting a Tacstar shell holder on a Moss. 500?

As the title says, I can't seem to see how it's done. The side of the receiver appears to have pins in it instead of screws. From the looks of the Tacstar shell holder, it's a two piece where I'd remove the six small allen head machine screws and install the aluminum plate to the receiver first and then re-install the plastic shell holder. The plate, with the shell holder attached has one hole that appear to be tapped. Do I need to remove the pins on the mossberg receiver and then install long machine screws (that I'm missing)through it to a to attach the plate? As a side note, I have a Hogue overmolded forend and butt stock on it. Will the Hogue forend clear the Tacstar shell holder when I install it on my moss. 500?
Thanks in advance and Happy Thanksgiving!

That's how I did it on my 870 and I'd assume it's the same for the 500. There's a step by step here: http://www.rem870.com/2009/08/14/rec...remington-870/

If it's a 4 round holder most likely it'll clear it, if it's a six I have no idea.

It's a six and I took it apart and laid it on the side of the receiver with the forend all the way back.....it clears easily. Maybe I need to order the mounting screws from Tacstar?

I purchased it used from a member here. The holder and a Ambi-select for a AR-15 for $25. I also saved on a like new ctr mil spec stock for $50 so I could probably splurge on a mounting screw set from Tacstar. Is this what you advise and will it come with instructions?

Do not use the steel bolts provided in the side saddle kit on Mossberg shotguns. The steel will, with use, "egg" out the pin holes in the alloy receiver. Of course when things get loose what do we do? We tighten things.
You can bend your receiver into worthlessness.
Attach your side saddle with either Velcro or 3M double stick tape. I have done both. Same caution applies to Benellis. I have a Benelli S-90 A1 that it has stuck on for nearly 12 years now. of course I have to remove the outer part of the side saddle to remove the trigger housing. My mossys have velcro mountings with cut outs where the pins come through.
I have also converted to CA Competition elastic side saddles that mount with velcro (makes for EZ storage in the safe) Zip the spare shells off and the gun is back to standard width, couldn't do that with my Vang Comp 590 as it arrived from Hans.

Thanks for the tip! I think that the velcro trick is what I'm going to roll the dice with!
