    "Magnum band" sling swivels

I'm thinking this is the way to go for my shotgun. It wouldn't be a problem on a standard length magazine tube, but my mag is the 7 round extended tube that falls flush with the barrel. Needless to say, mounting a sling on it is kind of weird. It's not so much a problem with the sling swivel being out past the barrel as obviously it's not gonna get blown off or anything, but the added distance between the front and rear swivels makes carry very difficult and unwieldy.

The "magnum band" sling swivels, like the ones Uncle Mike's make, seem to be the answer I've been looking for. But they don't seem too popular, I have rarely seen them used, and never seen a Calgunner post a picture of a shotgun with one installed. It's basically a metal band that fits around the magazine tube and is slotted for a QD stud that hangs beneath it.

Why describe it? That's what it looks like.

Problem is, they come in a lot of configurations (half band like the one shown, and full band n.p.) and sizes (anywhere from .800 to .850 up to even a .900 I think I saw. What style is best, and for that matter what size do I need for a Mossberg 500? I have scoured my manual, my gunsmith DVD, and the Internet for this specification and I can't find it.

    Thanks in advance fellas.
