    Interstate 982 with ghost site

I went to Reeds in San Jose and fired my Interstate 982 today. I compared it to my 870 Express. I am impressed with the site instead of the bead. I changed from gun to gun and really couldn't tell the difference. I must say it was a pleasure to find out I did not make a mistake on the 200 dollar shotgun.

$242.49 out the door. I just looked at the receipt. I put about 30 rounds thru it, another 30 thru the 870. I have a folding copstock on the 870 with re-coil reducer.

I have to older version made by Norinco. It's an awesome shotgun for the price, but the screw to adjust the ghost ring sight's elevation should have semi permanent loctite applied. My sight is still in the Mojave desert somewhere.

There are 3 screws on the rear ghost sight that you may want to swap out. They're slot screws, but I replaced them with Allen heads, I think they were metric, M3 & M4. The elevation set screw is a critical one, if you lose it the sight will slide off, so definitely swap that one out now. The windage one is a special screw, should it be lost it'd be tough to find a replacement, but at least the sight wouldn't fall off. Be sure to look in the receiver to see if the new screws are too long and need to be filed down a tad.

Swap them out for looks or quality of the slotted screws that are in it now?
Did you also use lock-tight on the threads? Are you as happy with the gun as I am?

982 is a keeper. Sights are pretty much dead on with slugs to 50 meters.

I swapped 'em out (and used LockTite) because they're easier to torque down for me, because if a part is lost, I doubt it'd be easily replaced, much easier to replace the screws preemptively. Plus, now that you mention it, they do look better

Very pleased with it, fired it side by side with some 870's and it was equal to 'em.
