    Unknown Shotgun - Assistance Required

Just bought this shotgun off of a member and am wondering if anyone can provide some definitive proof as to what brand it is. On the side it has Jonas BA Repeater. Quick Google search revealed...like one link. There was a Gunbroker link that said these could have been made by Sears or by Marlin. Aside from that, there's practically 0 information on it or the person known as Frank S Jonas or Frank S Jonas Inc. Just trying to see if I can locate spare parts for it in case something breaks. Seller said it could be a JC Higgins(maybe this Jonas paid to have his name on it?). Any help is definitely appreciated.

All the markings/writing present on the shotgun are in those photos, other than that it is pretty bare.

I believe it to be a High Standard produced shotgun, which was also sold under the JC Higgins name by Sears. Compare yours to this gunbroker ad for a 20 gauge:

The J C Higgins 12 gauge model 583 was subject to a recall where Sears would purchase the bolt from you to deactivate the weapon as there had been cases of the bolt exitting the shotgun when fired with deaths reported.

Personally I wouldnt plan on shooting it, but if you were be sure to have it inspected by a gunsmith first.
