True wealth is time. Time to enjoy life.

Life's journey is not to arrive safely in a well preserved body, but rather to slide in sideways, totally worn out, shouting "holy schit...what a ride"!!

        p

        Balance
Workrmanship in parts ( will last 4 lifetimes of 500 rounds per week)
High grade Carlo Walnut, French Walnut stocks
Resale value and a return on your money
And the ability to pattern 85-90 % , 1 inch apart in a 30" pattern

You don't have to spend 5K- 10K on an O/U to get the above....but dont expect to spend 450.00

There's plenty of shooters at the range that use a Perazzi, some use Krieghoff as well. I'm sure if you ask nicely, they'll let you squeeze off a couple rounds off their 10k-20k+ gun.

Thats like asking "What's so good about Ferrari?"

Sure - your Yugo gets you there, but the difference in quality and workmanship between the two should be obvious.

When you shoot hundreds of thousands of rounds at competitive levels, these shotguns hold up - a gun failure in the heat of competition may mean losing a nice paycheck. Thats why you will never see top competitive shooters using your average consumer grade shotgun...

I had a Perazzi back in the 80's. A 20 gauge O/U. What an amazing shotgun. The fit, feel, handling and accuracy were perfect. It was made in early 60's, engraved with gold inlay and belonged to the father of my first wife. When he passed in 1986 he left it to me.

Funny ending to that gun. When we got divorced in 1993 it was an amicable one and she asked me if she could have the shotgun because she wanted more children, specifically a son (we had a daughter) and she wanted to pass something from her father down to a son. I understood and said sure. Anyway, I was her first husband (she's on #4 now) she went back to Kansas and we fast forward to #3 around 1998. As I said we parted friends and she calls me up crying about what happened to the gun. Dufus #3 had taken the Perazzi, value now in the range of $17,000, and gone hunting with it. Only problem was he didn't have a license and he was on posted property without permission. The gun was seized and vanished. I guess the KDWP NRO took the shotgun and gave dufus a pass on the charges.

Get the kids out of the house and perhaps find a better job.

A handmade sg is a lot like an exotic car or a handmade pair of boots...the differences are not easy to explain unless you actually have the experience. Feeling the difference is not possible unless you've spent some time with a run of the mill sg.

Thefeeder's post is spot-on, but after 4 lifetimes of 500 shells a week the gun can be adjusted to feel like it did when new.

I used to ask that about Mercedes until I bought one and drove it for 100 miles...

                            Perazzi / Krieghoff = Ferrari
Blaser / Caesar Guerini = Lexus
                            Browning / Beretta = Chevy / Ford
                            Mossberg = Kia
Anything from Turkey = Schwinn Bicycle

People that buy "Mossy" "shotty's" for "HD" and never shoot them, but post on calguns about all their tactical mods they'll never use = Keds shoes

I think I'm gonna have to go with a Kia, Chevy, or Ford, I knew Blaser rifles were expensive, thought their shotguns might be different.
