Most civilization is based on cowardice. It's so easy to civilize by teaching cowardice. You water down the standards which would lead to bravery. You restrain the will. You regulate the appetites. You fence in the horizons. You make a law for every movement. You deny the existence of chaos. You teach even the children to breathe slowly. You tame.

ha I doubt Big 5 has any winchester o/u for 250 nowadays! I would buy one in a heart beat. I was in Big 5 today and saw some o/u for 450ish, I believe. Check out the Remington Spartan, they can be had online for around 350. Get pretty good reviews, too.

That's a near double-4-figure gun new--if someone offered one in good condition for $250, you'd have to fight me and my wife and my grandma for it ;-)
A Citori is well out of his expressed price range.

That said and though the Brownings are darn fine guns, if you are going to pay the big freight, I like Beretta O&Us although it's more personal taste than anything concrete for sure. You cannot go wrong with a Browning or a Beretta O&U. There are many other quality brands as well (Guerini for instance and many others)--but among the volume manufacturers, Browning and Beretta are the cream. But I think those guns are out of the price range he's talking about.

OP did not mention a price range...but did mention a "good O/U". But, if Big 5 is the place for O/U shotguns ...who am I to say otherwise.
