Cheapest place to buy Rem 870?

Buy guns online at Impact Guns, a trusted online gun store since 1992 — handguns, rifles, shotguns, and ammo from top brands. Competitive prices, ships to your FFL.

Looking to buy one of these, I am going to get a Knoxx low recoil adjustable stock. Is this a good deal? Any cheaper places? I dont mind buying used either as long as its in good shape, thanks!

the recoilless adjustable stock just doesnt make sense. Do you like getting pounded in the shoulder? seriously, if your gonna spend 60-70 bucks as is, why not shell out a few more bucks for the recoil system which does work!

Well what system would u recommend? I thought the Knoxx was a good piece, I sure dont want a solid stock, and the pistol grip is another no-no so what are my options?

For the cost of that 870 tactical plus the Knoxx, you're almost at the price level of the Mossberg 930, whose gas system will give it less recoil than any pump plus doodads, and it's a semiauto.

Well after looking around I can find a nice stripped down 870 for around $250 and then add the Knoxx low recoil adjustable stock, put some night sights on it, side saddle (Holds 4-6 shells) and one or two other doodads and Ill be golden.
I have shot my dads Beretta semi-auto shotgun and it was very nice! And I really want a pump, makes that cool sound

My 870P has a wood stock that handles the recoil just fine.

To digress, purchasing a 870 Police rather than a 870 Express is money well spent.

pigiron, what are the differences between the express model and police model? is it just the walnut furniture? Thanks.

Doing all the things people do to their 870's is like putting 20" rims on a 96 Lexus.

Why is that? Care to elaborate?

The 20" rims cost more than the car is worth.

Don't get me wrong, firearm hobbyists make the world go round. What it gets down to it this, the base model 870 Police is a better platform than a 870 Express. No amount of tacticool equipment changes that.

Yeah, but at a far greater price too. You would need to subject the gun to combat usage and no one is going to do that. Face it, most HD shotguns are rarely ever shot much, and even if they were an Express is still a very good shotgun that will out last you.

I shoot the snot out of my 870 Police. And it was an agency turn in that lived a long service life before I got it. I prefer it that it is made to a higher standard, with tougher parts. While it would most likely never see combat in my ownership, it could. And that is worth the few extra dollars to me.

My gun has a +2 mag extension, Knoxx and a Sure Fire forend. While I can put those things on an Express (with some gunsmithing involved) I can be just as effective with the wooden furniture it was issued with, which I have, and the mag extension alone.

Howdy dezertpilot to actually answer youre question... Auction arms, gunbroker and gunsamerica are 3 great wesbites to attain a smoking good deal on whatever shotgun you may want. My only 2 cents as far as the choice of weapon..Anytime a firearms manufacturer attaches the word "tactical" to a weapon they know about ten million "tacticool" yahoos will come running to buy it..and they will tack on to the price $$$$$ it looks nice..But..Any remington shotgun you buy will serve you well with the proper care and preventative maintenance. Shop for the best price and as far as recoil...TAKE IT!!!!!!!!!!
