I've shot a remington 870 for years mostly for clay pigeons. I've been wanting to get an auto loader and am looking at a remington 1100. My question is that I love the simplicity of cleaning the 870 and am afraid that an 1100 would be much more complicated and time consuming for cleaning. Can anyone with experience with these shotguns describe the difference between cleaning them? Thanks

No different as far as cleaning simplicity you just follow the instructions in the owners manual. There are some things different of course like cleaning the gas orifices in the barrel and making sure the gas systems parts are clean and it good order but this is just part of owning a semi-auto and only takes a few minutes more.JD McGuire, Owner

If you're going to a gun fight, take a shotgun. If you can't take a shotgun, don't go.
