Vented Rib Question

My buddy has a Winchester Pump 12 guage and when he shoots it, after a few rounds, the vented rib moves foward on the barrel. Any ideas on how to fix this problem?

it should be pinned or peened somewhere

did he chop his barrel maybe the one pillar that was pinned was lost with shortening
