pistol grip suggestions...

Im looking for a good pistol grip for a shotgun, Now before I hear a whole bunch of stuff about it not being practical, Well I know it's not very practical in general use. I want my shotgun to be a little more compact to keep in my car and for just a general camp gun any suggestions? It's for a remington 870 HD.

Knoxx breacher grip. And I think pistol grip shotguns are practical, especially for home defense.

Yes it expensive becus it is a recoil reducing grip. I have shot the knoxx stock and it really helps. If you use this grip, you can shoot slugs out of a pistol grip without breaking your wrist Its worth the $ if you are want to load your gauge with heavy rounds. Otherwise just get a regular pistol grip. The breacher grip has a spring inside the grip to obsorb the recoil.

I don't really like the idea of relying on a grip with a spring... The mesa tactical set up looks BAD I'd like to have that in the future just can't justify the price tag right now though.

if you want pistol grip only get the Knoxx breachers grip. IMHO the extra money is well worth it especially since you have a nice shotgun. If you had crap i would say use crap but since you do not spend the extra $.

Speed Feed Pistol grip is inexpensive and will serve you well.

If you're really that tight on space why not just use a handgun?

I have the ATI top folder on a 590 that needs to fit in a smaller space. It does everything I need. I actually just had it at the range this morning to stretch it's legs and was reminded that you really can't put your cheek on it without giving yourself a splitting headache. Luckily, at defensive distances, just looking over the barrel without a cheek weld is quite effective.

I find this set up much more effective than my tiny little pistol-grip-only Ithaca. It's just over the minimum specs to be legal dimensionally and while diminutive, it's quite a handful to shoot and really not the most accurate. But I got it because it was different and interesting not because I was planning on shooting skeet or anything.

Like I said I know it is not very practical it's not about clearing tight spaces it's about fitting more efficiently in my car and I don't have to keep a long gun locked like my pistol. I have shot pistol grip shotguns and can hit up to about 20 yard's by looking over the barrel and still be effective.

I don't mormally recommend a pistol grip but if you know what you are doing you might consider the Pachmayr Vindicator or the Hogue Tamer. I've owned several types and these absorbed the recoil the best.
